建築の仕事に携わるとその仕事(プロジェクト）が建築される場所=土地や敷地境界と関わります。土地の中でのルールだけではなく近隣への配慮や調整を行うことでプロジェクトが竣工します。土地のスケールを大きくしてみると国の境界にまでなるのかと思われますが、その境界を確定したり、境界内の安全を守るのも建築の仕事にみる境界の考え方と似ているのではないかと思います。
As a work of architecture, we need to confirm the property line of the site. Not only take care of the inside of the site , we need to take it consideration the surroundings and neighbors. It could be a similar concept to think about country border that we need to claim the border and keep the safety within the border, which we often hear about as a current topics.

メキシコでは都市部から離れたところに何年か勝手に住むことで居住権を得て、最初はテントのようなものから平屋になりさらには階を重ねて広い家となるのが可能だとの説明を現地で受けたことがあります。必ずしもすべてがルールや常識的な考えだけではないのも現実のようにも思います。
